AWS Platform Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced AWS Platform Engineer to design, build, automate, and manage scalable cloud platforms on AWS. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with AWS, Amazon EKS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS Lambda, with a focus on platform automation, reliability, security, and operational excellence. Amazon EKS is AWS’s managed Kubernetes service and supports infrastructure provisioning through tools such as Terraform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable AWS cloud infrastructure and platform services.
• Build and administer Amazon EKS clusters, including cluster configuration, upgrades, networking, scaling, and troubleshooting.
• Manage Kubernetes workloads, deployments, services, ingress, namespaces, RBAC, and resource configurations.
• Develop and maintain Terraform Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for AWS and EKS environments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and operational processes using Terraform.
• Develop, deploy, and manage AWS Lambda functions for serverless and event-driven workloads.
• Implement platform automation, monitoring, logging, security, and high-availability practices.
• Troubleshoot AWS, EKS, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-related issues.
• Work closely with DevOps, SRE, development, and security teams to improve platform reliability and developer experience.
• Follow cloud security, governance, cost optimization, and infrastructure best practices.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS Cloud services.
• Strong experience with Amazon EKS and Kubernetes.
• Advanced knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with AWS Lambda and serverless architectures.
• Good understanding of AWS networking, IAM, EC2, VPC, S3, CloudWatch, and load balancing.
• Experience with Kubernetes troubleshooting, scaling, deployments, and cluster operations.
• Strong scripting/automation skills using Python, Bash, or similar.
• Understanding of CI/CD and Git-based development practices.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Good to Have

• AWS certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or SysOps Administrator.
• Experience with Helm, GitOps, Argo CD, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Knowledge of EKS security, IAM roles for workloads, autoscaling, and cluster optimization.
• Experience building internal developer platforms and self-service infrastructure.
